This colorful tropical bird is found mostly in southern Texas, Mexico, and South America. Similar in size to a Blue Jay, the Green Jay is a bit shorter and more rounded and has a large vocal repertoire. Since birds are symbols of happiness and joy, they are regarded as a necessity on the Christmas tree.
